1 Eat the dead or starve

This first tradition is very much strange. In the Yanomami tribe that resides in Africa, they have a strict policy about not wasting anything. This includes the remains of the dead that happens within the tribe. When someone passes on, they take the body and incinerate it into nothing but ash. After the ash is produced, they apply the ash to other foods and EAT the remains! They find it completely necessary for finding a reason to use the dead, as it is a waste to them when life leaves their bodies.

4 Hanging Coffins

When most of us die, we are put into a coffin and then buried into the ground. Well one custom in the Middle East suggest otherwise. In the Philippines there exist many limestone caves that are present surrounding the Sagada region. What makes this region unique? This is often referred to as the region of the dead. Many find it necessary to hand their family’s dead offspring off the sides of these limestone caves as oppose to burying them. This tradition was first introduced long ago in an ancient tradition known to the people of the Middle East. They do this tradition because of the belief of beast that would come and take the dead bodies. If the body is thrown into a casket and hung off a cliff, these legendary beasts cannot touch the remains of the dead. It also is believed that the remains will be safe from evil and will be blessed. With these strange events, we can never take the dead for granted. Strange? I think so!
