Scary Sea Creatures from the Depths of the Ocean

These are real animals that live in the deepest parts of the ocean. As you read this story, you might think this is some science fiction talk but there is actual documented proof that these sea monsters exist. In fact in one case it is said the Giant Squid has been noted though not proven as of yet that it would pull sailors off their ships to feast upon their flesh. Who said science fiction can not be somewhat real.

1 The Viper fish

These horrifying creatures from the oceans deepest depths live some 80 to 1600 meters below the sea’s surface. These fascinating yet grotesque creatures have light sensor organs they used to attract their prey. They have no skin color whatsoever, and many are translucent. Between their bulging eyes and razor sharp teeth, this sea monster is enough to scare any human being. Luckily for mankind these beasts live well below the sea’s surface.

2 The Deep Sea Angler

This eerie deep sea creature resembles a huge basketball and has some scary resemblances to a Piranha. It has a massive mouth with powerful fang type teeth. The Deep Sea Angler like many other deep sea creatures has a light organ that they can turn on and off to attract its many prey it feasts on. The unique difference with this species is that the females are much bigger than the males. The male has diminutive hook type teeth that it uses to attach itself to the females blood vessels. Once it finds a female it stays hooked to her for life. The male receives its nourishment through the female. If a male does not find a female, it would die from starvation. These animals live about 3000 feet below the ocean’s surface all across the world.

3 The Giant Squid

The giant squid is known as one of the largest animals in the world and can grow up to 60 feet. These sea creatures have strong suction cups that they use to cling onto their prey as they feed. Their incisive beaks finish off their victims in a rather horrifying yet efficient manner. There have been rumors during World War II where these animals come up out of the depths of the water at night to feed upon unsuspecting sailors. There have also been other reports where the animals pull men off the boats into the depths of the sea.

4 The Dragon fish

This predator grows six inches in length however don’t let its small size fool you it has a long barbel attached to its chin that it uses to attract its prey. At the tip of it, the predator is able to illuminate itself by turning it on or off. When its next meal gets tooclose, it uses its massive jaws to snap its victim up. The creature also uses this organ to attract mates.

5 The Giant Isopod

Related closely to the little pill bugs one could see in their garden The Giant Isopod is considered prehistoric in its appearance. With its long claw-like feet and hard shell, this scavenger will eat anything that falls to the ocean floor. Though their mouths are quite small in structure there are many different sections that mechanically work to rip apart and disembowel their prey. When these creatures feel, they are under attack they will tighten themselves up into a tight ball. Their armor like shells protects them from any harm.
