11 Places Most Tourists Will Never Want To Visit Ever Again
We are often excited to go on that dream vacation because we have seen a particular area in travel brochures, promo videos and on social media. It looks magical and a fray tale destination making us tempted to also visit the place but does it always turn out the way we thought it would be? Unfortunately, there some popular tourist sites that don’t always look the way they do in the brochures. And sometimes, your own high expectations can completely ruin the whole impression of your trip. Here is a list of 11 places that often leave tourists disappointed with the end result of vowing never to visit such places again.
1 Statue of Juliet in Verona, Italy
The legend states that you can get lucky in finding your life partner just by touching the right breast or hand of Juliet. The statue, in fact, is surrounded with hundreds of tourists at a time, which can ruin the romantic atmosphere of that area. Thousands of tourists who are looking for love constantly damage the wrist and breast of the statue. The reality around the statue, as opposed to tourist brochures, is really different here.
2The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen, Denmark
It was Hans Christian Andersen, the famous Danish fairytale author who wrote the story of “The Little Mermaid.” A statue commemorating Andersen was erected previously in Copenhagen Harbor on a rock. Today, it is not very easy to see this statue. This is because in 2007, officials of Copenhagen had ordered for the statue to be shifted several meters into the harbor for preventing tourists to climb on it and avoid vandalism. The size of the statue is only 1.25 m or 4.1 ft. tall which can be really disappointing.
3The Beatles Story in Liverpool, England
True fans of The Beatles will be disappointed by this exhibit as it is nothing relating to any of the singers. There are a few items and exhibits belonging to the band members. Most of the exhibits in the museum are already well known by the public. There are many unnecessary things as well. This makes the museum unimportant and in no way relevant to the legacy of the famous four.
4La Scala in Milan, Italy
You can find one of the world’s renowned opera houses while walking through the city’s center. The 3 story mansion can get camouflaged among the exquisite Italian architecture surrounding the area. As a lover of theater, you should be present at the opera performance as Italian opera can never disappoint a person. But this is not easy as cheap tickets though available at the theater box office and on the internet are sold out very quickly within just a couple of hours.
