Good choice, we would do the same, that’s why we did a small research and decided to suggest these places for your next destination.
1 Pamukkale, Turkey
We guarantee that your jaw will drop down when you will see this place. Besides its surreal almost mythical look, it is a real piece of work of nature. The cascade basins have been used as a spa since the second century BC. The name literally means “cotton fortress” in Turkish so if that is not enough for you, then just imagine that combination of white limestone full with hot water and plenty of sun. The hot springs of Pamukkale stretch into the distance and are especially tempting at dusk. It’s breathtakingly beautiful place that everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime.
2 Arizona’s Coyote Buttes, USA
You wouldn’t want to miss this place, so go ahead and put it on your travel map. Maybe the Grand Canyon gets all of the tourist attention; Coyote Buttes is actually more stunning, mystical and surreal for the eyes. If dunes carved by centuries of sand are to your liking, you’ll definitely want to add Coyote Buttes to your travel temptations list.
3 Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, Italy
Not that this place isn’t known, au contrary it is very popular among the mega-rich people of Europe, but it is still a treasure hidden from many global visitors. Hugging the Mediterranean, Costa Smeralda is home to sailing races, yachts moored at sunset, and whispered secrets beneath the Sardinian sun.
4 Lanai’s Keahiakawelo, Hawaii, USA
This place can just might leave you thinking you are no longer on the Earth, but somewhere on the Moon. Desolate and haunting, the red clay dunes are covered with gigantic boulders and tiny tuffs of vegetation. This place is breathtaking and worth visiting.
5 Providence Canyon, Georgia, USA
This is a tempting treasure you don’t expect to find in the southern United States. Shades of taupe, tan, and rust color the rocky walls of this exquisite destination. Spindly trees watch over the canyon, causing visitors to wonder how vegetation manages to grow with no source of water in sight. Of course, don’t be surprised to see wildlife unexpectedly.
6 Yemen’s Socotra
Have you ever heard of this place so far? Don’t worry, it is not so popular among tourists, but for sure is a hidden gem worth visiting. Barren, rocky desert is speckled with incredible mushroom-like trees that will leave you wondering how on earth beautiful vegetation manages to grow in such a desolate place.
7 Lencois Maranhenses National Park, Brazil
Тhe sand dunes here are a real spectacle of nature, and are like nothing you have seen in your life. White sand ripples amongst deep green water in tunnels that look like a giant carved them with an outstretched finger.
8 Sumatra’s Mentawai Islands
The islands are known to insiders in the surfing community, but luckily or not, they aren’t yet that mainstream place crowded with tourist from around the world. If blue water, coral reefs, and miles of marvelous beaches are the sights you daydream over, you’ll definitely want to pay a visit to the Mentawai Islands.
9 Coronation Street, Providence, USA
If you are a fan of cobblestone streets and enchanting taverns like the Rover’s Return on Coronation Street, you’ll want to check out Providence, Maine on the east coast of the United States. You’ll have to watch where you are walking along the pathways of Providence. Puddles, protruding grates, and worn out cobblestones just add to the charm of this memorable destination.
10 São Tomé and Príncipe
This is the world’s smallest Portuguese-speaking country made of the two-island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe. It is a unique and largely untouched culture, boasting gorgeous beaches, rich jungles, excellent food, and friendly locals. If you ever go there, just google the name Ilhéu das Rolas resort; it is a tiny island just to the south of São Tomé that the equator runs directly through. How awesome is to spend your vacation in the middle of the planet, right?
