An Artist Creates a Mirror House That Blends Into Its Landscape and Changes Every Moment
6A beautiful work of art
The mirror home is a blend of the traditions of the US and Europe. Describing his work of art, Aitken says Mirage Gstaad will bring the idea of Manifest Destiny and the American West into contact with the European landscape and the tradition of the sublime.”

7It was also showcased in other locations
Mirage Gstaad isn’t his only work but a third masterpiece. The mirror home was first placed in the desert outside Palm Springs USA in 2017. It was also placed inside a bank in Detroit in 2018 and it was also part of the exhibits in the 2019 art festival ELEVATION 1049 that brought together contemporary artists in Gstaad Switzerland. Aitkens work will remain in the Alps for 2 years. Aitkens showpiece will interact with mountain landscapes to show how the home changes with seasons.

8The home gets lost into its surroundings
As you can see, the house gets completely lost and merged into its surroundings much like some invisible technology at play or as if an invisibility cloak was thrown over it. If not for the frames, you wouldn’t even notice it there.

9Every wall is like a hug unopened window
The interiors are as stunning as the exteriors because every part of the house makes you feel as if you are under the sky right in the open. Every wall is like a window without even having to open them where you can see stunning and panoramic views of your lush surroundings.

10This scene is simply spectacular
Imagine living in a home and being greeted very morning to a visual feast like the picture below. Words too cannot describe how stunning it may see to those living in the house. Because of the interiors and spacious glass walls, every time you turn your head around, it’s as if you are in heaven.
