4An extensive study involving more than 1700 children

The study was quite an extensive one that involved 1782 people all who were 18 and above. The participants were asked to make comparisons between themselves and their siblings taking into account several different parameters some of which included responsibility, car-free attitude, easy-going, relaxed, tension, funny etc.

5What research found out was surprising

The researchers surprisingly found that the biggest difference was in the parameter of funniness. It was found that the younger child or sibling was way funnier. 46% of those who happened to be younger siblings themselves also said they were much funnier than their older siblings. 47 % said they felt more relaxed than their older siblings and 42% were found to be more easy-going.

6The eldest are more responsible

In comparison to the easy-going, relaxed and carefree behavior, 54% of those children who happened to be the oldest said they felt more responsible, 54% said they were more organized and 38% were found to be more successful.

7Other siblings have special traits too

Besides younger siblings being funny, and relaxed, other siblings in the birth order also possessed their own unique traits. This made researchers believe that every child is unique and ahs a distinct role in the family and falls into their own individual niche. It is this niche that ultimately molds and develops a child’s character and personality. Firstborn or eldest children were lucky enough to find their niche first. This usually felt into the role of being responsible and more conscientious. They often trued pleasing their parents and even felt a sense of responsibility for their younger siblings.
