This woman was found by a man after being frozen for six hours, find out what happened to her?
Miracles happen anywhere and at anytime. Especially, when people lose all faith and find themselves in hopeless situations. Here is a prime example of a real miracle happening when a frozen woman came back to life when there was no hope of her surviving.
1 The woman who was frozen
Jean Hilliard is one lucky person. She will never forget the day of December 20, 1980 when she came back from death. Hilliard who hails from Lengby, Minnesota was found by her friends, frozen to death and almost on the verge of dying from hypothermia, when she was taken to a hospital with the hopes of only a miracle happening and saving her from certain death. Click on the next slide in order to know the entire story behind Jean’s ordeal.
2 The ordeal that happened to her
On December 20, 1980, Jean Hilliard was driving back to her home from her friend’s home in terrible snowy conditions. The snowy winds were so strong that visibility was very bad and the roads were laced by snow. This unfortunate combination of weather and bad road led to Jean’s car steering off the road and into a ditch. Fortunately for Jean, she escaped unharmed from the accident and knew that help was just 2 miles away at her friend’s house. Instead of freezing to death in her car, she decided to walk to her friend’s house. However, it was -22 degree Fahrenheit outside with heavy winds blowing and she braved the powerful, chilling winds in order to walk to her friend Wally Nelson’s house. However, her body lost heat quickly and hypothermia set in quickly. Also walking in -22 degree F temperature was not suitable for her and she started feeling weak quickly.
3 How she was saved?
She somehow reached her friend’s driveway and collapsed due to exhaustion at around 1 am in morning with no one out there to help her. For six hours, she stayed on ground in freezing temperatures in the driveway and basically froze in ice and she didn’t have the energy to call for help. In morning at 7 am, her friend found Jean frozen in the driveway and ran to check on her and found that she had frozen pale in the ice. He immediately loaded her frozen friend in his car and raced to Fosston Municipal hospital. Doctors had no idea how to save her, as they were worried about brain damage from being frozen. Her joints, eyelids, fingers and even her skin was frozen solid and they were unable to insert syringes or move her.
4 The miracle
The doctors tried their best and hoped for a miracle in order to save her. Finally out of nowhere, at 1 pm, she woke up and asked for a glass of water. She started moving her hands and feet with time and doctors saw no point in doing any amputation and miraculously, Jean left the hospital after 49 days without any major loss to limb or life.
