You won’t believe what this Woman did to fulfill her desire to be a mother
There is a maternal instinct in every woman. But sometimes, there are some who can inspire humanity through their selfless acts of giving that can cross boundaries of caring for children other than their own. It is these guardian angels of love and mercy that bring a smile to the many orphans on this planet.
One such woman is Lacey Dunkin, a woman who adopted six sisters. Certified to adopt from the age of 25. Lacey Dunkin from California took a huge step in life and despite of not being married, enrolled herself to become a foster parent. But she never realized what the future would bring by that one step of selflessness.
1 Lacey Badly Wanted To Be a Mother
For Lacey becoming a mother was one of the most beautiful experiences of her life. And she loved kids and always wanted to have them. Although she did marry and had kids of her own, it was when she was younger that the eventful journey of being a foster mom began. Within four months of registering for adoption, she received a call to adopt four little girls, all sisters. Among Sophia, Natalia, Melanie and Kaylee, existed a fifth sibling a new born baby who unfortunately was given away to another foster home.
Although Lacey was overwhelmed because here was not just one but four!! She said a big YES!! In fact for Lacey, she just wouldn’t consider adopting one or two of the girls, she didn’t want them separated and so she chose all four of them.
2 Not One But Six Little Girls!
The process was immediate and much to Lacey’s delight the girls bonded well with her. Unfortunately, the girls’ biological mother gained custody of them nine months later. Lacey was devastated. But as fate would have it, a month later the mother called Lacey again. She was having a tough time caring and providing for the girls. Moreover not only was the fifth child Lea also with her, she was pregnant with a sixth child too.
Lacey, did the unthinkable she agreed to take in all six of them. It so happened that the sixth was also a girl whom they named Cecily. She became part of Lacey’s family in March of 2015. Lacey was now a mother. Taking up the challenging, she was a woman who adopted six sisters.
3 For Many Lacey Is an Inspiration of What Motherhood Is All About
It seems Lacey is undoubtedly a hero of sorts. “I have so much love for them. We are so, so proud of them,” said Lacey. For Lacey, her big family is all she lives for and would not even think of trading them for anything else in the world. She actually loves being their mom.
4 The Perfect Family Photo Which Spoke A Thousand Words
Lacy took to writing about her experience and was soon nominated with a Motherhood dare to post one special photograph that would reflect the happiness and pride which she enjoyed in being a mom. So Lacey chose this image below. But then do you know why she chose this particular photo?
Prior to the photo being taken there was chaos. Lacey was stressed out in trying to get the girls to pose for the pic. There was an infinite amount of yelling, crying, screaming and even bargaining. There was a lot of pouting and tantrum throwing so much so Lacey lost her cool for awhile shouting ‘all I want is one nice picture of us all, is that too much to ask?
5 Life Isn’t Easy, But Its Rewards Make You Smile!
Yet for Lacey’s unique and vibrant nature, those were memories for her regardless of the emotions involved. Nonetheless they were emotions that reflected and symbolized a family. For Lacy the happy, amusing final photograph is hugely symbolic of how hard life can be but in the end, the rewards make you forget everything and smile. For this woman who adopted six sisters, life was always about the rough road you travel, it was also pleasant warm and beautiful.
