You won’t believe what’s happening at the Fukushima power plant. Absolutely shocking
March 11 2011 was one of the most devastating moments for Japan. That was the day of the awful and massive tsunami that shook the entire nation even as the world watched in horror at the rampant and sad devastation of property and human life.
The earthquake that triggered the tsunami measured 9 on the Richter scale and ripped the country apart. 15,981 lives were lost on that fateful day. 6152 were injured and 2584 went missing. However what no one seems to be speaking about is the radioactive debris at Fukushima nuclear power plant destroyed during the cataclysmic event.
1 The worst earthquake to have ever hit Japan
The earthquake was one of the most powerful that Japan ever experienced. Even Honshu, Japan’s Main Island was shifted as well as the earth’s axis by four to ten inches. Japan has quite a number of reactors supplying 30% of the country’s electricity. Most of them situated on the coast line which incidentally is the most active seismic zone on earth.
Three of the sic nuclear reactors located at Fukushima Daiichi were destroyed. The core of the reactors melted in just three days. In November, It was reported by the Japanese science ministry that 11,580 square miles of land surface were contaminated by radioactive cesium. Later an additional 4,500 miles were contaminated. But that’s not the shocking part. Read on.
2 Tons of radioactive waste is being dumped in the Pacific
For the last four years, tons of radioactive waste is being dumped into the Pacific Ocean every single day. The results are deadly and visible. The radioactive cesium is contaminating the entire ecosystem poisoning the natural food chain. The byproducts of the contamination are being observed in Japanese foodstuff across a 200 mile radius of Daicchii nuclear facility.
Cesium accumulates in living organisms faster than the rate of elimination. The unfortunate fact of such incidents is the misleading reports by the Tokyo Electric Power Company TEPCO about the contamination. But the cards are on the table and the effects are openly visible.
3 What’s being done About the Contamination? Nothing!!
The results of the radioactive debris at Fukushima contaminating the environment could well become worse than the Chernobyl incident. The weird fact about it is that no one seems to be doing a thing. Scientists aren’t even organizing themselves to figure out a solution to the contamination which is becoming a silent catastrophe of leaking radiation.
The Times of London reported in march 2015 that Akira Ono , Chief of Fukushima power station made a confession that the three nuclear reactors that had melted need to be shut down immediately but the technology to do so and stop the leakage DOES NOT EXIST!! TEPCO last stated it would take another 40 years to clean up Fukushima. Can you beat that!!This is what the Fukushima decommissioning chief has to say.
