Hero Humpback Whale Saves Marine Biologist Diver From 20 Foot Long Tiger Shark

4She was busy studying the whale

When Nan was studying the 14 meter long whale in the water, she saw the shark approaching and because of its length, she thought it was another whale. She soon realized in horror what it was when she identified its tail movements.

It was then that the whale approached her and kept pushing her for over 10 minutes. Obviously she might have been taken aback at the moment because after all, it’s not usual for a human to receive such contact while in deep water and that to from a huge monster whale. Nan described her entire experience in detail.

5The whale was trying to protect her

Nan says she wasn’t really sure what the whale was up to “I’ve spent 28 years underwater with whales, and have never had a whale so tactile and so insistent on trying to tuck me under his huge pectoral fin.” She tried her best to move away but she couldn’t. This guy seemed to have made up his mind to be her knight in shining armor whether she liked it or not.

6She was taken aback and scared

Nan tried getting away as she feared that if the whale rammed her too hard or hit her with its flippers or tail, a few bones would break for sure. It could also rupture her organs. Had the whale been successful in tucking her firmly under its pectoral fin which it was trying to do, she would have drowned she said.
