These Are The Ways In Which Tourists Get Cheated Abroad
6Dealing with your baggage
This has only been reported in small airports. Basically while waiting for your luggage to show up at the baggage carousel you might not be able to find it. This is when people in uniforms will show up asking if you need their help. You will say yes and they will get you your baggage but for a price of around $10.
7Renting a place to stay
Some people often don’t find a good place to rent while on a long vacation. They try every reputable website as well as apps but are unable to find anything good so they ask the locals. This is where they get cheated. If you are looking for a place to rent find out the prices online or ask the locals before saying yes to a certain price.
8Bills you pay
Always keep the receipt of everything you pay for and check them once. This is because if you do not know the local language you may get charged for something you did not use. Thanks to modern technology you can easily translate foreign bills using your smartphones and translating apps. This is one way to stay clear of people trying to cheat you.
9Some things are not complimentary
In some countries when you check into your hotel you might see some snacks or fresh bread laid out on the table. You will naturally think this is complimentary but you should always ask. In many hotels, you will have to pay for them if consumed. You will see this added to your bill when you go to check out.
10Buying fake things
This has been seen in many countries where people buy things from the local markets or roadsides as they were told lies as to what they’re buying. For example, the picture we have is of ‘dancing cartoons’ which are being controlled by an unseen fishing line. What you will be buying will be paper cartoon cut-outs.
