UK Paid China $20 Million For 2 Million COVID 19 Antibody Test Kits That Don’t Work. It Now Wants Its Money Back
It seems that China is the most popular news subject in the world today and for all the wrong reasons. Not only is the country earning the criticism of several nations due to its botched up handling of the coronavirus situation, it seems to be raking in profits because of it. China today is busy supplying the world with PPE kits, COVID 19 test kits and the like. But the biggest problem adding to the infamous Chinese reputation is the quality of goods that are being regarded as trash and faulty. After all, that’s what you get with the Made in China tag. Now it’s Britain’s turn to have been duped as they say into receiving 16 million worth of test kits that don’t even work.
1Britain paid $16 million for faulty test kits from China
Yes! You heard right! Britain paid China $16 million pounds for COVID19 test kits from two different Chinese companies but now the tests have proved to be inaccurate. The UK is now trying to get their money back even as research is on in the country for antibody tests.
2The coronavirus cases in Britain has seen an increase
It’s funny how countries as intelligent as the UK never learn when it involves Chinese goods and that too something as sensitive as Coronavirus testing kits that the country badly needs right now. The Coronavirus curve seems to be not anywhere near flattening as Britain reported a staggering 5,599 new cases today second after the US and a total of 847 new deaths taking the overall total to 108,692 cases in the country with a fatality toll of 14,756.
3The sum of $16 million was paid to two Chinese firms
The UK government has paid two Chinese companies a sum of $20 million for two million coronavirus antibody tests. Like other countries around the world, UK is still trying to look for a test that can undergo mass production that can show if a person has had the disease and if they are immune to it or not.
