An Artificial Tree That Converts Polluted Air Into Oxygen
One of the biggest problems that the modern world is facing is air pollution, in some cities the quality of air has decreased to such an extent that it is resulting in people getting sick and losing lives. The governments are trying to counter this issue by imposing certain restrictions and taking preventive measures but there is a lot that remains to be done. As per the data collected by the World Health Organization, every year 8 million people lose their lives due to air pollution. The good news is that a group of scientists have come up with something which can be of great help to humans in fighting against air pollution.
An artificial tree has been invented by the scientists which has the capability of turning pollutants into clean oxygen and it’s capacity is equivalent to almost 368 natural trees. This is definitely very good news as it can help in reducing the pollution to a great level especially in cities like the Indian capital Delhi which has been called as a gas chamber by a judge of the Supreme Court.
The citizens of such cities are facing many health issues and many people are even shifting to other cities as they are very much concerned about the health of their kids. It is certainly true that the biggest wealth that a person can own is health.
2Mexican startup, BiomiTech:
This artificial tree has been created by a Mexican startup which is known as BiomiTech. The project of artificial tree comes under the BioUrban air purification system which is designed in order to convert various harmful compounds such as Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Oxides, etc into Oxygen.
3The innovation award:
The importance of this artificial tree can be understood by the fact that BiomiTech won the innovation award at the 2018 Pollution Expo which was held in Birmingham. These pollution expos are organized in order to analyze the problems that we may face because of pollution and discussions are done to find out methods to curb pollution.
4The physical attributes of artificial tree:
The artificial tree which has been named as BioUrban is nearly 14 feet or 4.2 meters tall in height and it is around 3 meters in width. It seems to be a blend of a tree and a high-rise, it has a trunk made of steel with shining rising bands.
5This is what the founding partner of BiomiTech said:
Jaime Ferrer, the founding partner of BiomiTech said that the problem of pollution is increasing with each passing day and they decided that they just can’t watch all this happening; they need to do something to counter this problem of pollution. BiomiTech which was founded in 2016 aims to help the polluted cities in getting cleaner air is specific areas.
