This is What Would Happen If We Planted A Trillion Trees?

Even as millions around the world are striking for climate change, there is not much being done by the big governments around the world towards striking a balance and neutralizing the harmful effects of global warming on the atmosphere. And big companies and businesses aren’t doing much either – although that can’t be said for all businesses. Tentree and loveplugs.co are two companies that are working to plant trees for every order they recieve which is brilliant. Unfortunately, though, they are in the minority. What if the scenario turned and we all started planting trees instead? What if we planted a trillion trees? What would happen to the planet? Would climate change reverse, improve? Or be the same because industry along with technology is evolving and more and more ways and means to pollute the planet are happening every day? So many questions.

1Imagine yourself living the life of a tree planter

Imagine that is just the crack of dawn, not too dark but yet dark. You are in a tent and you are totally clueless about the weather outside but even then too, how does it matter, because it’s always the some more or less. Crazy and changeable.

The weather is crazy, you’re right there on the front lines as part of an army geared up to do some major tree planting. You are about to do battle nature to save the environment. The task at hand is to plant a trillion trees.

2As a tree planter you are up against the elements

It may be heavy rain, snow, sleet or very humid and hot but you are up against the elements and raring to go. You have your shovel ready in hand and wearing over 20 kgs of protective gear. Who knows, if you manage, you could even plant 2000 trees in ten hours but that remains to be seen.

3Tree planting is one of the toughest jobs in case you didn’t know

Think about what would happen if people could do something like this for the next 570,000 years. Tree planting is not an easy job and certainly no picnic either. You encounter bugs, bears, blisters, rough pathways and unknown terrain not to forget the unpredictable weather. What’s going to happen then. Did you know one of the common practices of tree planters in freezing temperatures is peeing on your own hands just to keep warm? Tree planting is a tough and perhaps one of the hardest jobs.

4But why would people do it? If they don’t, here’s what could happen

The weird thing is why would anyone want to take on the job of tree planting? Why do people do it? They do it because if they don’t and no one else does it, then life will be very different for everybody. From 1900, the average temperature of the planet has risen by one degree and if that doesn’t sound much, well, once you feel it, you’ll know.
