Things We Do Not Appreciate Before Life Takes It Away From Us
We often get too comfortable with all the things we have in our daily lives. We start taking them for granted and don’t understand how lucky we are to have them. We live under the belief that a majority of what we have today will still be ours tomorrow.
But, unfortunately, that is not how life works. As we’ve seen in the past there are many situations that can arise where we can lose everything we have. We need to make it a habit to be thankful for what we have today as we may not have it tomorrow.
Most of us don’t even realize that having food to eat every day is a privilege. In fact, we are so privileged that we waste food when millions of people in the world don’t have food to eat. You may wonder why this should concern you. Because you are lucky to be getting food and you shouldn’t waste it.
You should be thankful you were born in a country that can feed its citizens. Don’t waste food, try to give away food that you don’t need to people who need food, volunteer with organizations that feed needy people, and maybe donate to international bodies that are trying to feed poor people all over the world.
3Clothing and shoes
While it may seem like every person in the world can afford clothes and shoes, that isn’t the case. There are many people who only own one pair of shoes and maybe very few clothes. The next time you think of buying clothes unnecessarily, think of donating your old clothes first. You aren’t wearing them and they aren’t helping anyone by sitting in your closet.
4Why you should donate
You aren’t wearing your older clothes and they aren’t helping anyone by sitting in your closet. By donating, they will find their way to people who really need clothes. Victims of natural disasters, who lose their homes, are constantly in need of clothes. In many countries, most people can’t even afford clothes and shoes.
5Spending time with friends
Humans are social animals but you will be surprised by how many people in the world are lonely. In the UK, a survey found that 19% of the respondents had never felt loved. In Japan, over 35% of the male respondents had never had a close friend. Therefore, appreciate your friends and don’t take them for granted. You are lucky to have someone you can share things with.
