In this heartbreaking episode, a young couple is broken as Martha loses her partner in an accident. She soon comes across a service which can help people deal with the grief of losing a partner. She is delivered a doll which when provided with information becomes a synthetic replacement of her late lover. It uses his texts and emails to become more like him.

Inspired by this, Eugenia Kuyda used 8000 lines of text to recreate her deceased best friend Roman. Software geniuses used these texts to create an AI-based algorithm to recreate the deceased person. They created a chatbot that could mimic what Roman sound like. Based on this an app called “Replika” was created for people to use.

2Season 3 Episode 1 “Nosedive”

This episode must have scared every person. In this episode, we see a world where ratings mean everything. People are constantly on their phones, uploading pictures to get ratings and rating, other people. The higher the rating, the higher the social standing. The episode sees a young woman struggling to get her rating up to buy her dream house but everything goes wrong and she loses all she had earned.

Reality

We may not be too far from a world like this. With every popular app allowing a section for rating the customers and the service providers, we may soon come to be defined by our ratings. That is a scary thought as it is impossible, as humans to behave in a measured way at all times. A single instance of misbehavior can potentially take everything you ever worked for.
