These Images Will Show You How Beautiful Plane Travel Used To Be
Since the Wright brothers took the world’s first airplane on December 17th in 1903; man has tried to conquer the skies. Once
This enhanced travel and made it easier for people to travel without being on land and taking days on end to complete their journey, but how has air travel changed over the years. We’re taking a look at some of the biggest names in aviation and how they have treated their passengers with class, standards, and luxury in air travel.
This image taken in 1936 shows something that doesn’t look like the inside of a plane. It looks like an image taken at a restaurant or buffet. But, believe it or not, that is really the inside of a plane. Back then planes were a luxury and carried only a few people so the luxuries they provided inside the planes were high and well maintained.
2Delta Air Lines
This image takes us back to 1970 when this image was actually taken. This young lady looks to be using the plane’s entertainment features. Back then there used to an inbuilt cassette player on all the seats and they provided earphones to the passengers so that they could hear their music or stories in peace.
We’re guessing this was a private plane with these two men playing chess during their journey or maybe it was taken in the first class cabin. This looks so luxurious and peaceful for people flying back then. When planes were first introduced to the public they made them luxurious for the public to get more sales. This image was taken in 1936.
This image shows us how the planes used to look in 1934. We can see how the seating arrangements used to look like and how the passengers had a small curtain that they could pull down and cover them from the rest of the passengers. We’re guessing this was for the night when the passengers didn’t want to be disturbed when they slept.
5Tupolev Tu-114 Airlines
This looks like a modern airplane’s inside but with a table between each row of seats. This image was taken in 1955. It was during this time when the insides of the planes stopped changing and remained the same. Minor changes did take place over the years but for the most of it, the planes looked the same after this period.

Aeroflot is one of the oldest airlines in the world as it was started somewhere in 1923. During the Soviet era, this was the national airline service as well as the largest airline in the world.

If you take this very image inside a modern plane’s dining cabin it would look so different as everyone would be busy looking at their phones even while dining with their parents.

This image must have been taken of a smaller aircraft during 1954-1965. It must have either been a small aircraft or a small cabin with just a few seats but luxury nevertheless. Delta started its operations in 1929 but it was founded in 1924. In terms of schedules and passengers being carried, Delta is currently the second largest airline service in the world.

This image was taken in 1959 when Delta was experimenting with their seats as here they look larger than normal. Airplanes have gone through many changes in their journey to what they look like today. Experimentation is what led the airlines to discover what the passengers wanted and needed.

Delta definitely experimented with their airlines and planes while trying out different things to see the reactions of the passengers. Here we have another inside that resembles the insides of a modern plane. Just look how beautiful the seats, curtains, and food used to look as compared with what you get today.
14British Overseas Airways Corporation
The British Overseas Airways Corporation or BOAC was the predecessor of British Airways. They understood that flying was something that only adults could adjust to so they decided to come up with something for the babies that had to be taken with the adults. Skycots were created that were little hammocks for the babies to sleep in over the parent’s heads.
