Texas teacher is left in tears at Walmart after man gives her a huge shock with these words
When a Texas teacher purchased school supplies from Walmart, she got the biggest surprise of her life. Texas teacher Sabrina Drude was purchasing school supplies from a Walmart store in preparation for the new school year. She had filled her shopping cart with several items such as pencils, notebooks, markers, color pencils, crayons etc. Her cart was literally packed and she was well prepared to be greeted with irritation by fellow shoppers as she made her way to the checkout counter. However, she wasn’t ready for the big surprise.
When Sabrina stood in line, a man behind her whose name was Lester Brown began asking her questions. He was curious to know why she had so many school supplies when there were no children around her.
1 A man began asking her questions while she stood in checkout
Sabrina politely explained that she worked as a teacher in a middle school that happened to be in an area of San Antonio that was socio economically backward and as such students couldn’t really afford the items they required for school. That was why she had to purchase the supplies for them.
Sabrina’s words seemed to have touched Lester deeply because she was doing a marvelous thing for her students. He even offered to pay or contribute towards the bill for the supplies in the cart. Although Sabrina was thankful, she replied that she couldn’t accept the money.
2 He suddenly jumped between her and the cashier
Sabrina’s bill totaled $97. Suddenly Lester jumped in between Sabrina and the cashier with money in his hand. He told Sabrina to out away her purse. Sabrina said she was so touched that she started crying. “I just started crying,” she recalled later. “That’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard.”
When Sabrina asked Lester what made him want to pay for the items, he replied with an amazing answer, “Because teachers don’t get the recognition that they deserve.”
3 Teachers do not receive their real worth
Sabrina explains how several school teachers spend their own money purchasing school supplies for needy kids and the though they receive a $250 tax deduction, it wasn’t worth the amount of effort they put into their classroom helping kids. When this Texas teacher purchased school supplies, she never expected this in the least. Sabrina plans to tell her class about Lester’s kind hearted deed.
“This is exactly the type of person I want to influence my kids to be,” she said, adding that she plans to invite Lester to a class pizza party. “I want him to inspire my kids just like he inspired me; if any of my kids grew up to be half the man he is I’d be very proud.”
