Teenager Wakes Up from Coma After 11 Months to Finally Learn About the Pandemic Despite Being Infected With COVID-19 Twice
It’s been over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic started and it’s been nothing short of a nightmare for the entire world. But, a certain teenager has no idea about the virus or what the present situation is like since he was in a coma for 11 months throughout the entire pandemic. He woke up with no memory of the pandemic, even though he caught the virus twice during his time in the hospital.
Joseph Flavill went into a coma after being hit by a car on March 1st
The teenager named Joseph Flavill, 19 years, had been studying for his A-levels when he was hit by a car in March 2020. The accident took place while he was out walking near his home in Tutbury, Staffordshire on March 1, just 3 weeks before Britain went into its first national lockdown.
The collision put 19-year-old Flavill into a coma which lasted for 11 months
Getting hit by the car, 3 weeks prior to the lockdown, sent Flavill into an 11 months-long coma. Now, that he has woken up, he is on the road to recovery, as he is slowly but surely managing to respond to blinking and smiling at loved ones.
He was preparing for his A-levels when this unfortunate incident put him in the hospital for so long
The Staffordshire teenager who is also known around as Joe, was studying for his A-levels at ‘The de Ferrers Academy’ in Burton when he got involved in the accident last year. He was then rushed to the Leicester General Hospital, where he was declared to be in a coma. He spent 6 months in the comatose state there until he was moved to Adderley Green a neurological rehabilitation center in Stoke-on-Trent.
He has no knowledge of the pandemic despite catching the virus twice in hospital
During his time in the hospital, he caught COVID-19 twice. The first time he caught it was while he was still in the coma and the second was again after he woke up. However, luck was on his side this time because he surprisingly recovered on both occasions.
