Man Invents Straws Made From Pasta To Substitute The Plastic Ones We Still Use

Plastic straws are something we all are used to and something that has become a danger to our environment. While many countries have banned plastic bags none have banned the straws. They are used everywhere and are thrown out in thousands per day. While there are other options like using metal ones but, that is not affordable and convenient for everyone.

Here is where innovation and bright ideas come out to play. But before we get into the story we need to take a look at how climate change is slowly destroying the world we live in.

1Climate change needs immediate attention

While several world leaders might still pretend like climate change doesn’t exist, most of us know that it is very real and needs our immediate attention. Over several decades, the environment has been degrading as a result of human action. This has resulted in severe climate change and crises in several parts of the world.

2What is climate change?

As the name suggests, climate change is a change in the permanent climate of a region caused by man-made factors. Longer and hotter summers, shorter winters, changing rainfall patterns, melting icebergs and rising seas are all manifestations of climate change. Along with climate change, plastic pollution is another awful impact of human activity on the environment.

3Why is immediate action necessary?

Several studies conducted by scientists have shown that climate change will be irreversible soon. We have about two years to start reducing pollution or else, the environment will start collapsing and there will be no saving it. Without the environment, the human species cannot survive. The Earth won’t be wiped out, as many think. It will survive as it has for millions of years. But humans won’t be able to survive.

4Many people are putting in effort

There are millions of people in the world today, who are actively trying to do something to save the environment. From the Ocean Cleanup project to Greta Thunberg and other young activists raising awareness, people are trying to do whatever they can to save the environment.

5Even celebs care

There are several celebrities who have openly stated their support for efforts to counter pollution. However, no one has perhaps contributed as much as Leonardo DiCaprio towards fighting climate change. He founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 with the “mission of protecting the last wild places on Earth”. He has used his celebrity status to raise awareness and funds for other efforts.
