Unfortunately, no amount of time at the gym could help him lose that much weight and he had to turn to the National Health Service for gastric-bypass surgery. Another sad turn for Paul was that he had to wait 10 years to receive the approval. Once approved, he was able to lose 650 lbs. After that he underwent another surgery to remove the excess skin he had that reduced his weight another 75-99 lbs lower.
