Canadian Man Buried 42 School Buses To Make Huge Doomsday Shelter, See The Insides
Ever since the United States of America developed the nuclear atom bombs and used them on Japan’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War; the threat of other nations doing so is a constant reality and threat.
Rogue nations such as North Korea have started developing nuclear programs and a situation like the Cold War between USA and USSR has started to form with North Korea constantly threatening to use its nuclear might against the USA.
Many people believe that such things can become reality and have started preparing for such threats by building a shelter that can withstand nuclear attacks and other threats. Canada’s Bruce Beard is one such survivalist and he has gone on to make a nuclear fallout shelter named Ark-Two and here is a tour of the facility. While Bruce is building his new ark, there are preppers and survivalist like him who are looking for ways to keep on their toes if the wrong could happen. Most survivalists look to businesses – such as Outdoor empire – for their equipment since many believe that hunting equipment may be ideal for an end of the world scenario. There are a lot of businesses out there that aren’t exactly targeted at preppers or survivalists but can be useful to them none the less. Then there are some companies – such as Know Prepare Survive – that target solely to preppers and survivalists, providing everything they need to prepare them for the end of the world.

1Bruce Beach – The Man who build Ark Two
Bruce Beach was born in the United States of America and was a Chicago native for a long time. However, in the 1970s, he relocated to a remote location in Canada by the name of Horning’s Mills. This was the time when the cold war was at its peak and Russia and the US doubted the other as both were nuclear capable countries.
2The starting of the Ark Two
This constant fear of nuclear war led to Bruce Beach to start thinking about nuclear survivalism and this was the starting of Bruce thinking about how he and his family would survive a nuclear event if it ever happened. Bruce started with a plan to build a survival bunker and in between 1980 and 1985 had a total of 42 old school buses shipped to his property.
3How the whole structure started out?
42 old school buses were just a start to his plan for nuclear survival. Bruce had dug a huge pit on his property and got all of the 42 old buses dumped into the massive pit. The buses were set up in a planned way and Bruce covered them in layers of concrete for reinforcement.
This made Bruce the owner of the largest functioning nuclear fallout shelter in North America and he named it Ark-Two after the biblical Noah’s Ark.
4The entire structure
The entire structure is 10,000 square feet in area. Given its massive area and size, the Ark-two nuclear fallout shelter can hold 500 people easily. The shelter is full of rooms for various activities and errands and Bruce claims that the bunker is “virtually impassable to anything short of a direct nuclear strike.”
5Expert opinion on the bunker
Che Bodhi, an event organizer for the Ontario Prepper Survival Network (OPSN), had this to say about Bruce’s massive underground structure: “When you go inside the bunker for the first time, it is a different planet, it’s like you’re on Mars. When you hear about this concept of 42 school buses underground, to fathom it is nothing compared to going in and actually seeing it…It’s crazy in there.”
