How can you live up to 150 years, this scientist has the magic key!
Dr. Alex Zhavoronkov, current director of the Bio gerontology Research Foundation thinks that he founded the secret to extend his life expectancy. By changing his habits, he believes that he can live up to 150 years.
She was 117 years and died last week, barely a month after her birthday. Born in 1898, the Japanese Misao Okawa was the oldest woman in the world and appeared to be always in a great shape despite her advanced age. But what is the secret of her long life?
1 What are the factors that can make us live long
For several years, researches have multiplied to better understand the mechanism that drives our cells and our bodies to age. Objective: being able to find out what might help us to slow or even stop the aging process. But what if it is only the beginning of these discoveries; a doctor thinks that, he already discovered the secret to increase human life expectancy.
Dr. Alex Zhavoronkov says that medical innovations and the use of antibiotics can make us able to increase our life expectancy even more than we could think. All super centenarians that are still alive today have experienced difficult times, when antibiotics were not yet available and that our understanding of human biology was not very far from the one of the Stone Age.
The longevity of these people is largely attributed to luck and their high resistance to stress that is mainly related to various factors and that includes also genetic ones.
2 Can life expectancy be increased by medicines?
Recent medical innovations have helped to reduce mortality occurring from certain diseases and thus increase the life longevity. In 2011, the life expectancy in Japan has reached 83 years old which is the highest in all over the globe. However, we could go much further, according to Dr. Zhavoronkov.
To prove his theory, this man has decided to conduct the experiment on himself.
Today aged 37 years old, he completely changed his lifestyle with the aim of reaching the venerable age of 150 years. He said that thousands of years of the human history show that neither diet nor physical activity or plants will significantly increase the life expectancy. According to him, the psychological aspect plays a crucial role in the aging process. Humans have accepted since their birth that they will finally die.
Human behavior and attitude changes during life and events like the birth of a child or retirement trigger many processes that are very difficult to reverse.
3 What is the Centennial lifestyle
Based on these assumptions, the scientist has enacted some rules that should allow him to increase his life expectancy, while waiting for medicine to give him a hand.
To avoid the psychological aging, first of all, he had set his target to 170 years and decided to build a “young social network”, which will help him to be always surrounded by young people.
4 Sleeping hours
He has also already decided that he won’t get married or have children in order to devote himself to his research. Concerning his lifestyle, Dr. Zhavoronkov sleeps up to seven hours per night, has a caloric restriction diet and does regular physical activity based essentially in yoga. According to him, it is also important to have various activities so that his life will never be boring.
5 Health condition
In addition to checking regularly his health condition, the scientist has realized genetic tests to check if he has sensitivities to certain diseases. He is taken daily more than hundred medicines and food supplements; some would be recognized as having an anti-aging effect.
In general, he will do everything to avoid getting sick, by getting vaccinated regularly. The question is whether it will work or not but this scientist is confident. He said that medicine will soon help him to further lengthen his lifespan. “I think that in the next two to three years we will have effective pharmacological solutions based on approved substances that will help people to stay younger and healthier,” he concluded.
