Of course, you wouldn’t expect a president to travel in economy or even business class. Ever wondered how the presidents around the world travel? We have compiled a list of some of the most expensive presidential planes here to clear your doubts. Be sure to tighten your seat belts before flying with us on this journey.
1 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner
Mexico – $600 Million
President Enrique Pena Nieto’s Dreamliner is crowned as the world’s most expensive plane and also every aviation enthusiast’s dream plane. This Dreamliner easily outbids the world-famous Air Force One in both cost and performance; it can hold up to 250 passengers and fly 10,000 miles straight, sans refuelling!
This dream of a plane can soar through the skies at 1,000mph, which means it can make a trip from Los Angeles to Tokyo without stopping. As if the whooping $600 million price tag wasn’t sufficient, the plane will cost a further $100,000 for maintenance per year even before it has taken off!
Naturally, the people of Mexico aren’t very enthusiastic with the arrival of the Dreamliner and have started a petition to halt its arrival. Keeping the messy economic situation regarding the Dreamliner aside, we cannot deny the charms of this beautiful specimen.
