The ship you’re seeing in the image is the Vlora. It was an Italian cargo ship that was built in Ancona, Italy in the year 1960. What you’re seeing here is the arrival of the Albanian refugees at the Italian port of Bari on the 8th of August in 1991. It was a completely unprecedented mass arrival of refugees that left the Italian authorities unprepared.
This image was taken decades ago when a woman went camping and heard noises coming from the outside of her tent. She knew the danger of poking her head outside her tent so instead, she took her camera and with one hand snapped a picture of the outside. This is what was in the picture, almost two dozen raccoons.
