Here’s Everything You Need to Know About The Upcoming London Fashion Week

11The times of Hadid

The biggest showstopper for last year’s London Fashion Week was definitely supermodel Gigi Hadid’s breathtaking capsule collection for the American fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger. Gigi, who is turning out to be the biggest fashion multi-tasker is not just a model but a designer, an influencer and a beauty guru. Besides collaborating with designers and also starting her own beauty line, Gigi is also paving her way as a creator. Last year, Gigi was the face of her Hilfiger collection at the London Fashion Week and the collection received wide applause.

12Hilfiger is winning it

“My vision for TommyNOW was to create a global platform that could bring our shows to audiences around the globe like a rock-and-roll world tour. It’s about celebrating the connection between fashion and pop culture with experiences, performances and inspiring interactions that are designed around our consumers. We look forward to celebrating the rebellious spirit and star-studded glamour of rock-and-roll in London for Fall 2017,” Hilfiger said about the September show. Since Gigi’s collaboration with the designer, Hilfiger sales have gone up mainly because Gigi is such a millennial icon and appeals to the modern American girl.

13The after-parties are wild

Fashion week seasons are all about the after-parties, which have evolved from just being a bash to being places where real networking happens. London Fashion Week also has the best after-parties, which sees the attendance of modelling legends like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, to newer sensations like Stella Maxwell, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner. The after-parties are also the biggest Instagrammable events, where the models and designers take the opportunity to showcase their personal style and also let their hair down.

14It’s all about the bonding

Fashion weeks are also about the models and are a great place to bond, mainly because they spend long hours together and look out for each other on the runway. Victoria’s Secret angel Stella Maxwell, who is a London Fashion Week staple, recently opened up about how she keeps up with her fellow models. “I have a group text with all the (Victoria’s Secret) Angels – I’ll look at my phone in the morning and have, like, a hundred new messages because everyone has chimed in with funny things. It’s been such a fun season. Sometimes we all end up staying at the same hotel, so in the morning I message the girls to see who wants to get breakfast. If we’re walking in the same shows, we just hop in a car and go together,” said Maxwell.

15Time for the new

The London Fashion Week is also the place for up and coming designers from all over the world. For example, Egyptian fashion label Three Fifty Nine is making its debut in the Fashion Week this September. “I’m thrilled to have been selected as the winner of DDFC X FAD Dubai Fashion Scout London. It’s an incredible platform for emerging designers to present their collections at London Fashion Week and I’m overjoyed to be among the designers showcasing at the renowned event. It’s a dream come true,” said the creator of the label Marwa Sayed.
