Restaurant health violations that will shock you, revealed by Health inspectors and employees
Is it always Service with a smile? That may be the motto for every restaurant but how much of a smile is genuine and how much is robotic. Your plate of that exotic cuisine may look all fancy, well plated and appetizing to the eye but how did it look in the kitchen? Sometimes behind the scenes matter a lot and in restaurants especially there is no telling what you may be really served.
Check out these restaurant health violations that will leave you flabbergasted and think twice before eating in a restaurant again.
1 It’s Only Chicken
Joe’s favorite restaurant was shut down. His ex wife who worked in the vicinity found out that inspectors had noticed something leaking from the ceiling. When they opened up the ceiling, to their horror they found eyes staring back at them. It turned out to be several chickens which the staff were rearing in the ceiling. Says Joe” Turns out, they were raising chickens in the ceiling and chicken CRAP was dripping in the food that I had been eating at least once a week.
2 Enjoy That Juicy Curry with Its Secret Flavor
This user posted on social media about how a restaurant was using a secret ingredient for their unique curry flavor
“My friend was inspecting a restaurant – walked out the back to find a man stirring a huge pot of curry. With his arm. No spoon or anything, just up to his hairy elbows in curry.
3 Even Cows Love Their Bread
This man’s stepdad was a baker in an 18 century French fortress replica who sold bread to the public. When there was a health inspection, the inspector ripped into his step dad for irrelevant violations like stonework walls, doorless entrances and no insect zapper. After much pacifying the inspector relented and agreed to give a pass on inspection of the food storage area.
When she entered the doorless area, she found a cow licking the loaves. Step dad obviously was dumbfounded too and all he could say was “Honestly, this never happens.” Surprisingly they passed.
4 Man Made Ice Cream
When this coffee and ice cream shop was shut down after inspection, patrons were shocked as it was always busy. Well when the manager asked the inspector why he shut it down, he replied that he had entered one morning just before the shop could open only to find the owner pleasuring himself behind the ice cream counter. Was he making a new flavor?
5 Take a Look What This Guy Posted
“When I went to Culinary School one of professors made the statement “If you want to know how clean a restaurant’s kitchen is go to bathroom first before you are seated…if the bathroom is dirty there is a good chance the kitchen is in the same condition.”
6 Hairy Chips
A social user by the name WomblesMama posted that her uncle who is a health inspector in Australia once received several complaints about a fish N chips shop selling food with chunks of hair. When he went there on an inspection, the owner greeted him wearing a vest and shorts. He was all sweaty and covered in hair like a bear. Even his back and neck was hairy like a werewolf. Well what else could her uncle do but recommend wearing appropriate clothing
when serving food.
7 Never say no to a customer
A user by the name of inkuro posted that her mom worked in a Mexican restaurant where the Lady owner cared little for hygiene. Once a lady asked for caldo de res (beef soup) but the place was out of meat. However before the server could tell the lady, the owner stepped up and said they would serve what she wanted.
To the horror of all employees, she digged out some beef from the trashcan, washed it and then even cooked and served it to the poor lady. Servers felt sick watching the lady sucking on the bone. The user’s mom quit her job.
8 Don’t You Love Pizzas?
Finally to top it all here’s what one manager from pizza hut confessed to Fox News. The dough for pizzas are not made in house, they are frozen discs. Workers too never wear gloves or wash hands when using the dough. To make the dough nice and greasy, it is sprayed with non stick spray before usage. Workers also top pizzas without wearing gloves so it means you’re actually getting a free toping of germs too.
