1 The Direwolf, Named Lady Was a Specialized Crossbreed Husky Adopted BySansa Stark in Real Life

The direwolf, named, Lady, killed by King Joffrey in the series wasn’t exactly a wolf, but a specialized crossbreed Siberian Husky Named Zunni. After exiting from the series, the dog was adopted by Sophia Turner who plays Sansa Stark. Sophie was reported to have said she had always wanted a dog, but her parents never allowed her one.

5 Dothraki And Valyrian Were Created By The Language Creation Society Especially For The Series

The Producers of Game of Thrones entrusted the job of creating the special language of Dothraki and Valyrian to the Language Creation Society. Almost 2000 words were created for Dothraki before translation by the society’s president and linguist David Peterson. Peterson has also worked for noted films such as Thor and TV series Defiance.

6 Valyrian Steel Has Its Equivalent in Indian Created Damascus Steel

Swords used according to the story are crafted from Valyrian steel and are supposed to be super strong, characterized by a rippled surface. Valryian blades are virtually indestructible and cannot be made elsewhere. Author George RR Martin based Valyrian steel on a real life steel alloy made in India in the 18th century. It was called Damascus steel and was famous for its sharp super strong qualities. All attempts to replicate have been futile as its formula was lost over time.
