Abby and Brittany Hensel have always been the center of media attraction as the world’s most famous conjoined twins. 1 They both share one body
Although they share a single body and one set of limbs, they have separate organs such as a heart, lungs, stomach, spine, and spinal cord. Each twin has learnt to control her side of her body where they both operate one arm and leg.
2 They found coordination difficult at first
Although they found coordination difficult, they soon learned to perfect their movement with their own distinctive style of walk. Brittany likes walking on tip toes.
3 Their parents rejected their idea to separate them
When doctors stated that the twins would not survive any operation to separate them, their parents declined the option. They do not regret their decision.
