1MIS-A is affecting multiple organs

The CDC report is a cause for concern because MIS -A is a severe Illness that not just causes serious inflammation in the body but also attacks multiple organs. In fact, autopsies done on COVID deceased in India have revealed shockingly that the patient’s lungs had virtually turned to stone. In both syndromes, like the child MIS, most patients are testing positive for the virus or are found with antibodies that suggested they had contracted it earlier.

2Research asks doctors to consider MIS-A in their diagnosis

But, similar to the MIS in children, the condition is still rare because at present only 12 adult cases have been discovered so far. To be safe, the CDC report which was published in its journal Morbidity and Mortality Weekly, instructs doctors to make a diagnosis of MIS-A if they find that the signs and symptoms in a patient are compatible with the disease. The concluding statement of the report reads “Ultimately, the recognition of MIS-A reinforces the need for prevention efforts to limit spread of SARS-CoV-2,” the authors concluded.
