The Civilized Side Of The George Floyd Protests The Media Does Not Want You To See

Recently there have been a number of protests happening across the US after the brutal killing of George Floyd at the hands of the police. This reignited the long talked about police brutality on people of color and other minorities in America. While many have begun peaceful protests some of these protests took a violent turn which the media cannot stop reporting. But, the one thing the media will not show you is just how united these protests really are.

1It’s not cops v/s rioters

The media wants you to believe that the chaos going on is between cops and rioters but the truth is that not all cops are racists and not all protestors are rioters. This humanitarian side of the protest is something the media does not want you to see. In many places, the cops have joined the protest and even took a knee with the protestors in the memory of George Floyd.

2We are one regardless of color

The media has turned the whole ordeal into a race war when in fact many police officers are trying their best to side with the protestors and listen to them. In many places, the police have taken a non-violent approach to the issue and have tried to calmly talk and even support the protestors.

3How did this all begin?

It all began when police arrested Floyd after he was accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill at a market. The police said that he resisted arrest which forced the officers at the scene to use force. This led to the viral video taken by onlookers showing Officer Derek Chauvin with his knee on Floyd’s neck while Floyd begged for his life as he could not breathe.

4The evidence does not support the police’s claims

After evidence such as security camera footage from a nearby business did not show Floyd resisting arrest the people and media did turn against the police and what they said about the whole ordeal. Onlookers took video evidence of the arresting officer, Derek Chauvin, with his knee on Floyd’s neck while the man kept on saying “I can’t breathe”.
