7 Child’s Habits That Seem Annoying But Are Actually Very Normal
3A child keeps waking up at night
A regular sleep pattern of a baby is going to bed and waking up the same time every morning but suddenly you find your baby waking up every morning at 3 am and crying. The more often it happens, the more difficult it is to deal with it. Having to process all that new information and new emotions may cause sleep disorders in children. It is most probably that the child has experienced overwhelming emotions in the evening and mastering such things may lead to overexcited behavior. Child psychologists feel that a child may sacrifice their sleep just to try out their new skills.
What to do
Plan your activities for the first part of the day. Don’t get irritated if the child doesn’t want to sleep at night, spend some time with them till they calm down and then put them to sleep. They too may soon get tired and do so themselves.
4Doesn’t want to listen to you
Your usual routine is dropping of your child to kindergarten and then going to work but your child suddenly makes plans of their own. They don’t eat breakfast, run around screaming, won’t brush their teeth and just won’t listen to you. That’s the worst time for dramatics. Psychologist John Gottman says that such naughtiness is an invitation to play with them. For babies, this is the way of discovering the world. A child is full of energy when waking up and don’t blame them when they have different plans.
What to do
Consider changing your schedule and try to wake up earlier so that you get some time to spend with your kid and play with them maybe. If you aren’t up to it, then allow them to play for 15 to 20 minutes and you will see the difference.
