A woman decides to change her lifestyle and loses over 1000 pounds to do so
When one reaches a pinnacle of one’s ability to suffer, something breaks in them and they find some new source of inspiration and work tirelessly to work towards remodeling themselves. This process also makes them a better person than they were before and it also that something that was eating them from the inside was no longer bothering them.
Here is the story of how a woman lost 1000lbs of body mass in order to save herself and turns over a new leaf.
1 Meet Mayra Rosales
Mayra Rosales weighed 1000lbs at the peak of her weight and was a Guinness book record holder for heaviest woman in the world. She was also known as half-ton killer, because of her confession of killing his nephew. This was proven false when police later found out that the nephew was murdered by her sister and not Mayra.

2 Constant struggle and family’s help
Mayra was incapable of doing anything due to her weight and just lay on a bed the whole day. Her family was always there for her and helped her clean herself and groom her. She also suffered from very severe bed sores due to laying in the bed and no movement at all.

3 TLC to the rescue
TV channel TLC came to the help of Mayra and her struggles were chronicled on their TV show Half-ton killer. The show documented her fight with losing the weight and showed the viewer her progress as she moved step by step towards her goal of losing the excess weight.

4 Doctor’s aid and surgeries
But before she the doctors could prepare her for exercise and dieting, she had to lose that excess weight she had gained. The excess weight didn’t let her move anywhere and it was decided to perform surgery on Mayra in order to remove that weight.
A team of 12 doctors and orderlies helped Mayra to the operating table in the hospital. The surgeries were a series of operations to systematically remove the excess fat from her body. She also received a bypass in order to ease the pressure on her heart which had become weak due to her weight.

5 The Recovery Process

When the surgeries were successful in removing the excess weight, Mayra was then able to perform simple exercises with assistance from nurses. She had to work very hard and eat right in order to reach her goals to stay healthy.

It took 6 long years and 11 operations for Mayra along with constant exercise and eating the right amount of food to lose 80% of her weight. Mayra now is a healthy woman who is enjoying the perks of life, which she couldn’t due to her weight.
