A Dad gives his daughters the best surprise before dying of cancer!
Human spirit is something that even death cannot break, even if it tries its hardest. Though eventually death wins, but the human spirit and courage etches its memories in the lives of the loved ones and family and friends.
Terminal cancer is something that no one wishes anyone would get. But the cruelty of fate is that the disease affects many patients in the world. But what the cancer cannot take away is the will of the patients to do something beautiful and memorable for their families.
Fred Evans did something that will be remembered by his family and friends forever.
Fred Evans was stricken with cancer and was losing his long drawn battle with it. But before he died, he wanted to complete and fulfill a wish that every father wants to experience.
The wish was to walk his 3 daughters down the aisle, hand in hand, to songs special to each of them. Evans was a father to 3 girls and a boy. His wife Karla helped him plan a wonderful surprise for his daughters.
2 The surprise
The 2 eldest daughters were invited by their father to a local church. The church was already decked in wedding decorations with friends and family present to witness some absolutely emotional moments.
Neither of the 3 daughters, two of them named Kate and Gracie were engaged to be married, but Fred didn’t want fate to snatch a right, that ever father has, to walk his daughter down the aisle during her marriage and give her away.
3 The celebration
Fred welcomed his daughters in a tuxedo, when they arrived at the church. Not knowing their father’s plan, they immensely surprised to see the decorations and broke into tears, realising what was going to happen.
Fred then presented both of them with a bouquet. Then he took the hand of each of his 2 daughters, one at a time, in his hands. He then escorted each daughter down the aisle to a different specific song. The daughters were openly grieving that they would imminently lose their father to cancer.
Family and friends then gathered together and prayed for Gracie and Kate, that they find every joy and happiness in their future marriages.
4 The finale
Fred had one more surprise left up his sleeve. The surprise was for his loving wife Karla, who had been with him since their marriage and this was his way of saying thank you to her.
He presented Karla with her own bouquet and asked her whether she would renew their marriage vows. She accepted and the couple walked down the aisle, hands in hand for the last time. They promised to love each other for the rest of their lives and sealed the promise with a kiss.
Though Fred Evans lost his battle with cancer a few months after the ceremonies, he made sure that left them with a wonderful memory of something they shared together, memory of a moment of pure love and happiness.
