Here’s What Your Body Shape Says about Your Health
Straight or ruler shape may have skinny fat
In their case they do have fat in their body which is referred to as skinny fat. It basically means that while they might appear to have a healthy Body Mass Index or BMI, there is still visceral fat present within them, surrounding their organs. The presence of this type of fat can make them susceptible to the same health problems that people with an apple-shaped body suffer from.
Risk of losing bone density
In fact, it is common to lose bone density over time with this body type. Losing bone density can result in osteoporosis. Also, people with lean figures have a rather hard time building muscle which is very necessary for supporting their skeletal structure and is absolutely necessary for good bone density.
People with this body shape can still lose visceral fat without getting thinner. The solution to this is by going on a Mediterranean diet which is generally a low-carb diet and exercising for 180 minutes per week.
4 Hourglass Shape
An hourglass figure feature similar sized hips and bust with a narrow waistline. Experts have considered this body shape to be the healthiest for years, because of the low waist-to-hip ratio. People who have an hourglass-shaped body generally are at a much lower risk of developing any kind of diseases which are associated with the other body shapes. Although, they may still have a small amount of subcutaneous fat around their stomach area and visceral fat surrounding their internal organs.
Yet the problem lies with the amount of visceral fat stored in their bodies since this type of fat cannot be seen nor can it be measured easily. You can only hope to prevent visceral fat from accumulating in your body by opting for a diet consisting of healthy fats and which is low in carbohydrates. Of course, daily exercise must be included as well.
