However, not all of us should blindly use garlic as part of our daily diet as it can prove harmful in some cases. 1 People with liver ailments
It is a common notion that garlic possesses antibacterial properties and is an anti-viral food that can destroy viruses and bacteria. It is because of this myth that many people eat garlic in order to prevent the risk of hepatitis. In fact, people who are already diagnosed with hepatitis also eat garlic regularly with the belief that it will cure the condition. The fact is something else. Scientific studies has brought to light that garlic cannot be used to prevent, treat or kill the hepatitis virus. There is no scientific proof that garlic is in anyway beneficial for the treatment of hepatitis.
There are certain elements in garlic that can actually result in stimulation on the intestines and stomach, and this may slow down the secretion of the vital digestive juices in the intestinal tract which may further affect the digestion of food and may cause aggravation of many symptoms for hepatitis patients including nausea.
It is also true that eating garlic in large quantities can decrease the level of hemoglobin and red blood cells in the body and cause anemia. So if you are someone with any kind of liver ailment garlic is just not right for you.
2 People with non-bacterial diarrhea
If you are a patient suffering from diarrhea then consuming raw garlic can cause its spicy flavor to stimulate your intestines further leading to edema aggravation and mucosal hyperemia. Garlic, can actually worsen diarrhea so it is best for such patients to keep a check on their garlic intake.

If you are nearing any sort of surgery then quit eating garlic at least two weeks before the scheduled surgery as the herb is known to prolong bleeding.

Anyone with eye disease of any sort should not be using garlic. If you have eye disease and also suffer from poor health then garlic can be really something nasty for you. 5 Pregnant and lactating women
If taken in normal amounts, garlic does not pose any sort of health hazard to pregnant and lactating women. Though this is not the case with many women, it is best to ask for a doctor’s advice on this one. However, it is suggested no to eat too much of garlic if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
6 People who have low blood pressure
Garlic is used to treat patients with high blood pressure and so it is definitely not advisable for patients suffering from low blood pressure to eat garlic as it will further lower down the blood pressure.
Garlic has definitely been a great herb with many medicinal properties, and for some people it definitely is beneficial, but for some people, using garlic may mean that they have to face troubles.
