High blood sugar doesn’t always lead to diabetes but it could well lead to that if you arn’t careful in controlling your blood sugar. The biggest disadvantage of such diseases are common symptoms attributed to regular reasons of lifestyle. Recognizing the signs of high blood sugar can do much to prevent you from irreversible bodily damage.
High glucose consumption through various types of food with high glucose content is the main culprit of high blood sugar. Confectionary items like cakes and pastries, carbonated sugary drinks, fast food and overeating are some of the elements responsible for hiking up blood sugar that may ultimately harm your blood vessels, arteries, nervous system, eyes and Kidneys. It isn’t surprising that most of these symptoms are attributed to common lifestyle conditions and reasons and are thus written off as nothing to worry about. You could never be more wrong. Your body warns you of any metabolic and chemical imbalances in the most simple of ways like frequent urination or itchy skin.

2 High sugar foods to avoid
If you have noticed any of the above symptoms, the first thing you need to do is consult a doctor for a blood sugar test. Avoid carbohydrates high on the GI Index. Sweets, fizzy drinks and sugary fruit drinks need to be removed from your diet immediately.
Bread one slice – GI score 70: White bread is a carbohydrate with high sugar content. Switch to multigrain or brown bread.
Rice cake – GI score 78. Quit eating white rice or rice cakes as these are dangerous if you have high blood sugar.
Baked potatoes – GI score 85: Avoid potatoes as they are extremely bad for conditions of high blood sugar. Although potatoes are a staple the world over, it has to be avoided if you want to reduce your sugar levels.
