There is also this uncertainty as to how the operation would turn out for her and the baby. Risk of infections is another important cause of worry. After having one C-Section, the risk of having all other babies in a similar method is a high possibility. Then there is the problem of the scar about which we shall discuss in detail.
3 The Not So Pleasant Scar that Accompanies a C-Section, Leaves Women with Self-Esteem Issues
The deep scar which is a result of the operation takes considerable time to heal which can make the new mom anxious. There are chances of infection so that area should be maintained properly with regular dressing done under hygienic conditions. There could be self-esteem issues for the new mother as she might find herself unattractive and not wanted by her spouse. A normal birth leads to feelings of having achieved something spectacular whereas a C-Section birth may be devoid of such feelings. The fear of her spouse finding her unattractive may also lead to feelings of depression and worthlessness in her.
