According to a Dentist from New Zealand, Dr. Robert Beaglehole, who is working in the Nelson Marlborough District Health Office, the main elements which are are causing tooth decay are the sugary drinks and high sugar diets. This is what is causing the increasing rate of pediatric tooth decay. In fact, Dr. Robert also stated that it’s a common scenario for kids in nappies undergoing tooth extraction where in 2015 almost 5000 children were recorded requiring general anesthesia for extraction of decayed teeth.

Sophie Beaumont, a dentist in Melbourne went on to state that more than a 1000 kids had undergone multiple teeth extraction simply because one decayed tooth infects the other teeth.
