Startling Study Reveals Connection Between C-Section Deliveries and Food Allergies In Children
11C-section births have increased
The study has estimated that c-section deliveries have increased from 30 in 1000 birth to almost 36 in 1000. As mentioned earlier, that figure is almost 1 in 3 in the USA. Earlier while larger babies have always been desired since they are assumed to live longer; a woman’s pelvis does not support the concept because being designed by evolution to be narrow for physiological benefits of the female anatomy.
12Larger babies will increase
This meant that evolution designed a baby’s head to be as big as a woman’s pelvis. But, unfortunately, bigger babies meant a risk of fatality or getting stuck in the pelvis endangering birth child and mother. C-sections have done away with this issue. It is this factor that scientists feel changes evolution where head size in relation to a pelvis isn’t of consequence with medical technology.
13Lethal problems of childbirth have reduced because of c-section
Such problems of large babies were lethal earlier where there was no medical intervention possible. Says co-author of the study, Dr Phillip Mitteroecker of Vienna University “Women with a very narrow pelvis would not have survived birth 100 years ago. They do now and pass on their genes encoding for a narrow pelvis to their daughters.” Thus, in theory, this could lead to evolutionary changes although there is yet to be concrete proof and evidence to back up the theory which has been based upon WHO data.
14It always depends on the factors governing the moment of delivery
While the debate for and against C-section babies rage, many advocate natural births while there are those in favor of C-sections which have the potential of saving lives. However, the pros have to be weighed against the cons that can only be decided by doctors at the time of delivery taking into account elective or medical issues present at the time.
