Research Finds 10 New Covid Symptoms You’ve Never Heard Of

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the most common symptoms as everyone may have been aware of by now is shortness of breath, cold, cough, fever, loss of taste and smell. In some patients, there have been other complications observed by doctors like clotting in the lungs, heart issues and now even kidney damage. However, the virus is proving to be elusive and scary in the fact that it is creating new symptoms found by doctors daily. According to Natalie Lambert of Indiana University, there are many other subtle hints that our body gives which we either do not recognise or ignore and these signs can be the red flags of COVID-19.

According to her survey of over 15000 COVID-19 survivors she reported nearly 98 signs of the infections which are relatively new.

1Syncope

According to Cleveland Clinic the virus actually manifests in this manner due to a sudden stop of blood flow to the brain. This is usually followed by the patient blacking out or fainting. According to medical research these symptoms were seen in individuals who were infected by the virus but were still asymptomatic. It means such symptoms are of extreme importance and should not be ignored.

2Goiter or Lump in Throat

During the survey almost 70 patients complained of a lump in the throat after being diagnosed as COVID-19 positive. Goiter according to the American Thyroid Association – is an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid which is a small butterfly gland near the throat, this also signifies a hormonal imbalance but does not indicate that there is any malfunctioning of the gland itself.

3Jaw Pain

Usually pain in the jaw could be the result of many different reasons such as injury, bone problems, stress infections, tooth grinding or sinus issues. But now COVID-19 is one of the new reasons for jaw pain as shown by a survey of 80 people who tested positive. Aches and pains are one of the most common symptoms of the coronavirus, so there is a high possibility that the dental pain is a sign that the body is fighting the infection. One must not waste time and take a test immediately.
