It’s easy to get rid of a headache with just a towel and the method really works!!
Modern life is so full of troubles and turmoil and moves at such a fast pace where we often find that a pounding headache is upon us. At times like this, the most common solution we can think of is a headache pill. To analyze the various reasons for headache could be lack of sleep, stressful situation, long hours at the computer, poor food habit and a host of other things. When a headache does strike we take a pill, if that doesn’t work then we simply take more and soon we make matters worse with other medical complications. Perhaps a non medical way to deal with this common problem would benefit many and honestly there is a way. A simple way with only just a towel! Intrigued? Read on!
1 So what’s the towel trick?
For some, reading this might bring a look of great surprise on their face and for some it might bring a look of disbelief. So for all the folks the first thing to note is that a wet towel has proven to be efficient at combating a headache very effectively. Next time a headache strikes, remember instead of reaching for a pill or two reach out instead for a towel.
2 Any alternative means apart from the pill is always welcomed
We have become so used to taking pills for headaches and other common ailments that we don’t think there could be an easy, simple method to address that. We seem to surrender easily to the idea of taking a pill for the illness rather than thinking for a moment there are other ways to explore. Yes there are wonderful alternative remedies for a host of ailments, only if we decide to try them and convince ourselves that they work.
3 You just need a few minutes and a wet towel
Don’t waste time by waiting for a headache pill to give you relief, rather head for the bathroom and pick up a towel not to surrender but to cure the pain. We will basically use the towel to give ourselves a head massage to ease out the pain gently. A massage with the towel will get the blood circulating properly in your head and help get rid of stress.
4 Often setting right the circulation helps instantly
We are often in a situation where the circulation in our head is not proper and that sets a headache pounding out. Take the towel and roll it from end to end until it looks like a coiled rope. Hold this rope like towel tight between both hands and position it behind your head. Once you’ve reached this position use the towel to massage your head and hold it tightly against the part that seems to be paining most.
5 Massage the area that seems to be paining most
For instance if the temple area is paining, massage that region firmly but smoothly, no jerky movements. If it’s towards the nape of your neck and emanating from near the shoulder or even the back of your head, massage there. Massage the relevant area, concentrating on the job at hand but do so in smooth movements and it’s not to be done with speed.
6 Results will come slowly but surely!
If you feel after the first attempt that you haven’t been very successful, take rest for a few minutes and try again. It has been observed that in most cases it works on the first attempt itself, but some headaches may need another go at it. Also with this try taking some mint tea afterwards, lie down peacefully somewhere with some soothing music to listen to and watch the headache disappear.
In certain cases you can even soak your towel in a little hot water, wring out the water and then coil it into a rope before you massage your head. Most people have reported an almost miraculous reduction in pain which was previously being dealt with through a pill. Moreover the towel is ever present in your bathroom and no matter when your headache strikes it’s easy to get one and give yourself this alternative means of achieving relief. After all, any method other then taking a pill is always a wonderful alternative and if it works, there nothing like it.
