Although your eyes are your most important aspect of your body, it could well be the most neglected. 1 Follow these simple rules the entire day

  • Stop wearing your glasses for one day
  • If you’re working at a computer stop at intervals to rest your eyes. stop using your computer 2 hours before sleeping
  • Rest your eyes for 3 hours every day. Alternately every three hours rest your eyes by closing them for three minutes.
  • Spend some time staring out your window at scenes of nature
  • Take a warm damp cloth and press it to your eyes for 30 minutes once daily
  • Look into the distance when walking

2 Perform this exercise to strengthen your eyes

The image below shows several patterns where you need to follow the lines that make up each pattern. The arrows point the direction which your eyes should follow. Almost like eye gymnastics, this is your eye workouts which will strength your eyes and improve your vision.

If you are new to this, then start by focusing on the middle first. After doing this once or twice if your eyes water, it’s a good sign. Close your eyes and relax them after you finish.

5 Perform this age old Indian exercise to improve your vision

Trataka is yogic meditation for improving vision. Also known as yoga gazing, you need to channel your energy and focus with eye and mind on a single object. Usually Trataka yoga is performed by using a candle on a stand and kept at arm’s length where you need to concentrate on the burning candle wick. Now continue to stare at that object with the least amount of blinking if possible. In effect you are meditating on the burning candle. After some time close your eyes, relax and visualize the burning candle in your mind. According to eastern philosophy Trataka is also a mediation to stimulate the third eye.
