Water is an important element for us humans to survive. We are made up of 65% water and our brain is 80% water. Water keeps the blood in the veins flowing, keeps the digestive system in pristine condition and also keeps the brain active and sharp. It is said that we can survive for 7-9 days without food and 2-3 days without water depending on conditions. People have always drank less water than what the body needs and some have pushed the limit of dehydration by going without water for 8-10 days at a time. Without water, our digestive system is hit the hardest since it slows down metabolism and affects other organs like kidneys. This can cause built up of kidney stones if water level is low in kidney and minerals like calcium don’t get dissolves during the digestion process, it can form crystals and ultimately kidney stones.
