Whether you are suffering from stomach virus, ate bad food or if you are constipated, stomach ache can be quite difficult and can tie you in bed for a few days. There are many natural remedies for a stomach ache and most of them are good to be taken daily even if your stomach is just fine. Read about them and memorize well so that you don’t have to suffer much.
1 Carrot and mint juice is a great mix for an upset stomach
Perhaps not the first thing you will think on, but this concoction is helpful if you’re suffering from the winter flu. The carrot provides nourishment and the peppermint soothes the upset stomach. Boil four sliced carrots, four cups of water, and one teaspoon of dried peppermint or one peppermint teabag. Cook for about 15 minutes on medium heat or until carrots are soft. If you are using a teabag, remove it, then blend the mixture until it is smooth and drink it. You can also add a pinch of ground ginger or a squeeze of lemon juice for flavor.
2 Rice tea sooths stomach ache too
To settle an upset stomach or stop diarrhea, prepare a rice “tea.” Boil 1/2 cup of rice in six cups of water for about 15 minutes. Strain out the rice, then flavor the water with a dash of honey or sugar and drink warm.
Fresh peppermint tea (or just peppermint tea in general) will help in relaxing your stomach muscles. It also helps improve the flow of bile, which helps you digest properly. This is especially useful if you are suffering from indigestion or gas/bloating.You will need a handful of fresh peppermint leaves or 1-2 teaspoons dried and 1 cup water. Cover the peppermint with 1 cup of boiling water and let steep for 5-10 minutes. Drink it while it’s still warm. You can also use fresh peppermint leaves; chew on them and they will have the same effect on your stomach pains.
4 Warm lemon water
If you have problems with indigestion, warm lemon water will help you with your stomach ache. The high acidity level stimulates the production of hydrochloric acid, which breaks down our food. By increasing the amount of HCL being produced, you help in regulating digestion at a healthy pace. You get the added bonus of the hydration too, which keeps the system flushed and running smoothly. Take 1 fresh lemon and a cup of warm water. Mix them the lemon juice and the warm water and drink it. You can take this mix every morning; it’s perfect for your metabolism.
5 Burnt toast settles an upset stomach
Burnt toast is great because the char absorbs toxins that are making you feel ill. Add a smear of jelly to make it more palatable. Burnt toast is perfect if you have diarrhea and you are on a strict diet. Consume it for a couple of days with dairy free products (combine it with any of the teas or juice mentioned here).
6 Apple cider vinegar soothes an upset stomach
A mixture of one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, one cup warm water, and one tablespoon of honey will ease indigestion and may alleviate cramping and gas in your upset stomach. It can also lessen discomfort caused by heartburn.
7 Ginger Root Tea
Ginger contains naturally occurring chemicals called gingerols and shogaols. These chemicals can help relax the muscles, such as the muscle that lines the intestinal track, and this way it helps relieve stomach cramps or a colicky stomach ache. Ginger root is also great for relieving nausea, which often goes together with a stomach ache. You will need 1 ginger root, 1-2 inches, a knife or peeler, 1-2 cups of water and Honey (only if you want your tea sweetened.) Wash and peel the ginger, cut a few chops and put them in boiling water. Let it boil for a couple of minutes and then remove it from the heat and let it seem for a couple of minutes. Strain the tea, add the honey and drink it.

9 Yogurt reduces discomfort from an upset stomach
Many people avoid dairy products when they have stomach ache, but the probiotic qualities of yogurt (live bacteria) make it a good cure as it eases digestive discomfort and boosts your immune system. Choose non-fat plain yogurt without added sugar or flavors when you have an upset stomach.
10 Chew fennel seeds
If your stomach ache is caused by indigestion, chewing fennel seeds will help a lot because they contain anethole, a volatile oil that can stimulate the secretion of digestive juices to help move things along. It is good for inflammation, and reduces the pain caused by it. If you are suffering from gastritis, this may provide some relief from the discomfort.
11 Heat helps an upset stomach
Place a hot water bottle or heating pad on your upset stomach. The heat increases blood flow to the skin surface and transfers the perception of pain from inside of your stomach to the outside.
