These Habits That We Think Are “Healthy” For Our Children Are Really Not
11Procrastinating is important
Yes, children need to get their minds off studies and chores for a while and take a moment to relax. Overburdening your child with studies and chores can easily lead to chronic stress. If you didn’t know, then chronic stress can easily cause hormonal imbalances in children that can negatively affect their growing immune system.

12Sitting straight
“Keep your back straight!” is something we’ve heard quite often when we were children. Many of us might even be hearing this till today. This is because our parents and even teachers think that sitting straight while on a chair is the correct sitting position. But, recent studies have shown this to be wrong and actually harmful to our spines.

13Why sitting at a 90° angle is bad?
According to studies, sitting at a 90° angle is bad because it puts too much pressure on our spine. When we sit at a 90° angle, our spine is straight in line. This means that all the gravitational force being applied on our spine is just at one point, our lower back. Scientists say that the best angle to sit is at a 135° angle which allows the gravitational forces to affect our spine equally.

14Drinking milk
Childhood and milk go hand in hand. How many times do you remember someone telling you to drink your milk when you were a child? Even as adults we consider milk a whole food as it contains everything the human body needs to grow and get stronger. This is way more important for children as their bodies and immunity system is still growing.

15How it is harmful?
Milk contains a protein called casein. This protein has the ability to increase the acidity in our stomach. The only way to combat this acid build-up is by the use of calcium. If our bodies lack calcium we can develop osteoporosis. There have also been reports and claims that casein can be carcinogenic.
