Foods that cause headache – Stop eating them frequently

Migraines may be caused by changes in the brain stem and its interactions with the trigeminal nerve. Those who suffer severe migraines can be very sensitive to certain foods, strong perfumes, and even strong light can affect their headache. The weather changes and other environmental factors are also serious triggers for headaches. The following foods can be partial reasons of migraine and if you have ever experienced this terrible headache, you better watch what you consume.

1 Chocolate

Cocoa can protect the nerve cells that cause migraine headaches, but almost one-third of the headaches can be caused by chocolate, which is identified as a headache trigger. Many people with migraines have increased appetite just before their headaches start and the sweet craving is much higher, so no wonder they reach for chocolate, but that is a poor choice. Stay away from the chocolate, or at least make a test and see how it would affect your headache.

Tyramine is a substance found naturally in some foods. It is formed from the breakdown of protein as foods age. The longer a high-protein food ages, the greater the tyramine content. The amount of tyramine in cheeses differ greatly due to the variations in processing, fermenting, aging, degradation, or even bacterial contamination.
