A study performed by the Marshall University School of Medicine in West Virginia concluded that a diet with walnuts can significantly reduce ones chances of breast cancer cell growth. In this particular study the scientists fed one group of mice a diet with walnuts and the other group was given a walnut free diet. After 34 days the tumor growth in the mice fed on a walnut diet had only been half of that of the group fed on a walnut free diet. Experts believe that walnuts have an anti-inflammatory component that can prevent breast cancer cells from growing and causing further damage.
