Children With Kawasaki Type Multi-inflammation Syndrome Test Negative for COVID-19 But Antibody Tests Shocks Researchers
A couple of weeks ago we reported how a COVID19 linked inflammation similar to Kawasaki disease had suddenly started affecting children in the UK, US and parts of Europe. At the time, the mysterious inflammation had just emerged and doctors were not sure what it was although many had presumed it was a symptom of COVID 19 and almost the same as Kawasaki disease. Now scientists are now confirming that the new Kawasaki like disease is indeed caused by the coronavirus and can be diagnosed by antibody tests.
1UK scientists now confirm new multi Kawasaki like inflammation in children is caused by COVID 19
UK Scientists are confirming the new inflammation infecting children is caused by COVID 19 after finding evidence after conducting studies on children admitted to Birmingham hospital. The children were infected with the condition and revealed that they were also infected with COVID19 weeks before symptoms could appear.
2Surprisingly children tested negative but had antibodies in their system which was a shocker
In the traditional lab-based tests that are being used for diagnosing COVID19 in adults, the children tested negative. But when a customized antibody test was used for testing the same children, it showed that the children had already developed antibodies to fight the virus suggesting they had developed COVID19 weeks before.
3Only antibodies tests are accurate revealing they ad Covid-19 much earlier
Doctors are now saying it is only the antibody test that is accurate in identifying if children had the virus along with the hyperinflammatory condition that can now also be fatal. Just 5 days ago, the first child fatality of COVID 19 was reported from New York of a 5-year-old boy who had succumbed to the mystery inflammation being called pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome.
