In women, the most telling sign is bleeding through their private parts or blood in stool. The bloating of the stomach occurs in women who are bleeding in between their periods or if they are bleeding after their menopause has started. Though the sign is usually caused by hemorrhoids, endometrial atrophy, fibroids or an irregular menstrual cycle, it is not a sign of any deadly disease, but shouldn’t be ignored as well.
If the bloating of the stomach is accompanied by fever, it can be a sign of an infection or an inflammation. You can rule out many conditions like pelvic, urinary or gastrointestinal infections by performing a simple blood test and getting it checked whether the red blood cells have become bigger or not.
Otherwise the blood test will itself reveal the cause of fever, whether it is infection of a different kind or it is inflammation.
Diverticulitis is a life threating condition that occurs due to inflammation of diverticulum, which is generally located in the colon. It causes bloating, pain and severe fever.
Diverticulitis happens when small pouches form in the wall of the colon and these pouches get inflamed or infected. It usually happens due to a low fiber diet, which causes extra pressure on the colon to push the stool forward. This pressure seems to cause formation of small pouches which get infected thanks to the bacteria present in the colon itself.
6 Pelvic inflammatory disease
Pelvic inflammatory disease occurs when one of the female reproductive organs, such as fallopian tubes, uterine lining or ovaries become infected or inflamed. It happens due to infection from a sexually transmitted disease, or may be due to other reasons such as during childbirth, miscarriage, abortion or during the insertion of an intrauterine device (IUD).
Women feel pain and discomfort which comes accompanied with a bloated stomach. The presence of the condition can be confirmed by checking the vaginal discharge, which happens due to the infection in any of the reproductive organs of a female.
